Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

MapsScraper ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. By using MapsScraper you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the Service:

Account Information

  • Email address — used for account management and support.
  • Subscription status — whether you are on the Free or Premium plan.

Payment Information

  • Payment transactions are processed entirely by Paddle. We never receive or store your card details, bank account numbers, or other sensitive payment data.
  • We may receive summary information from Paddle such as the date of purchase, amount, and currency for record-keeping.

Usage Data

  • Aggregate usage metrics such as the number of scrape sessions started, leads collected, and exports performed — used solely to improve the product and enforce plan limits.
  • We do not log the specific URLs you scrape or the content of the data you collect.

Technical Information

  • Browser type and extension version — used for debugging and compatibility checks.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the MapsScraper extension.
  • Authenticate your account and enforce subscription plan limits.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions via Paddle.
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate service updates.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). We implement access controls to limit who can view your data internally.

The data you scrape from Google Maps is stored locally in your browser's storage and is never transmitted to our servers. You are solely responsible for securing any exported files.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and will notify you promptly of any breach that affects your personal data as required by applicable law.

4. Third-Party Services

Paddle (Payment Processing)

Paddle acts as our Merchant of Record and handles all payment transactions, tax compliance, and subscription management. When you subscribe, you enter into a contract with Paddle. Please review Paddle's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

Google Maps

The extension operates on the Google Maps web interface. Any interaction with Google Maps is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. MapsScraper only reads publicly visible information displayed on Google Maps pages.

Business Websites (Email Finder — Premium)

When the Email Finder feature is enabled, the extension visits business websites found on Google Maps. These visits are made from your own browser and IP address, and are subject to each website's own privacy policy and robots.txt directives.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@mapsscraper.shop. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies

The MapsScraper extension itself does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. Our website (mapsscraper.shop) may use essential cookies to maintain session state (e.g., after purchase). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies on our landing pages.

Paddle may set cookies on its payment pages for fraud prevention. Please see Paddle's Cookie Policy for details.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through an in-extension notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
