Best Google Maps Scraper Chrome Extensions (2026)
We checked every Google Maps scraper Chrome extension we could find: what each extracts, email support, prices, install method and Chrome Web Store status.
Table of Contents 19 sections
A Google Maps scraper Chrome extension does one thing a cloud tool can’t: it works inside the Google Maps tab you already have open. You search, the extension scrolls the results, reads each listing and hands you a spreadsheet. No API key, no credit meter, no waiting for a server job.
This guide covers browser extensions only. If you want cloud platforms or an API, we compared cloud and API-based Google Maps scrapers in a separate post, and we won’t rank them again here.
Bias warning first: we make one of the extensions on this list, MapsScraper. To keep things fair, every number for a third-party tool comes from its Chrome Web Store listing or its own website, checked September 2026, and linked inline. The list below is not a popularity ranking. User counts are shown where a Chrome Web Store listing exists, but as you’ll see, those counts often don’t describe the Google Maps tool at all.

The catch: many “Google Maps” extensions on the Web Store are Bing Maps tools
Search the Chrome Web Store for a Google Maps scraper and the listings with the biggest user counts look like the obvious picks. Read the descriptions, though, and several of them only mention Bing Maps.
- The Maps Scraper & Map data extractor listing (70,000 users, 4.8 from 1.4K ratings, checked September 2026) describes extracting leads “from Bing Maps.” Its vendor’s Google Maps scraper page has you download a ZIP and turn on Developer mode instead.
- The MapsLeads.net listing (100,000 users, 4.7 from 1.1K ratings, last updated July 11, 2025) also describes Bing Maps only. MapsLeads.net sends Google Maps users to a separate product, GMapsScraper, which is also installed from a ZIP.
- GMPlus’s listed extension, Maps Scraper - Maps Leads Extractor (574 users), is also a Bing Maps tool.
The pattern we found: the Google Maps editions of the popular tools are mostly sideloaded, just like ours. That makes “it’s on the Chrome Web Store” a weaker trust signal than it looks. The user count and star rating on a Bing Maps listing tell you nothing about the Google Maps tool you’ll actually install.
The extensions, one by one
Maps Scraper & Map data extractor (mapsscraper.net)
Best for: Users who want a low monthly price and also scrape Bing Maps.
The mapsscraper.net pricing (checked September 2026) splits into a Bing Maps scraper that is free with no limits and a Google Maps scraper with a free tier capped at 30 leads per task (basic info and phones only). Pro costs $12/month and unlocks unlimited leads plus email and social data, and yearly billing saves 37%. The Google Maps edition exports CSV, and its install page lists “sign in with Google” as the first usage step.
Similar name, different company: mapsscraper.net is not MapsScraper (mapsscraper.shop).
GMapsScraper (MapsLeads.net)
Best for: Users who want lots of fields per listing.
GMapsScraper lists 24 fields, including place ID, CID, Plus Code, emails and social profiles, with CSV and XLSX export. The free plan stops at 10 leads. Paid is $25.88/month, or $18.88/month billed yearly ($226.56). Its install guide uses a ZIP, Developer mode and “Load unpacked.” All figures checked September 2026.
G Maps Extractor
Best for: Large free volume if you don’t need emails.
Per G Maps Extractor’s pricing page (checked September 2026), the extension’s free plan includes 1,000 records a month with basic info, phone numbers, 20 reviews and 10 photos per place, but no email or social extraction. Professional is $39/month (shown discounted from $49) for 100,000 records with emails, and Business is $99/month for 500,000. The same company sells an online scraper and an API as separate products.
Some comparisons still list it on the Chrome Web Store. We couldn’t find a live listing in September 2026, and the vendor’s install guide now has you drop a ZIP onto chrome://extensions with Developer mode on. For Edge, it points you to the Edge Add-ons store.
Scrap.io Maps Connect
Best for: Prospecting one business at a time inside Google Maps.
This one works differently. According to its Chrome Web Store listing (10,000 users, 4.6 from 22 ratings, updated September 6, 2026), it adds the website, emails, phones, contact pages and Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube links to listings while you browse, so you can click to call or email. It doesn’t build a spreadsheet. List building happens on the Scrap.io platform, which starts at $49/month ($35/month billed yearly) as of September 2026. It’s the most “normal” install on this list: one click from the Web Store.
GMPlus
Best for: Free daily volume from a web tool.
GMPlus gives 500 free credits a day. A standard record costs 1 credit, and a record with email costs 5. Exports come as CSV, XLSX or JSON. The Google Maps extension installs from a ZIP, but GMPlus now pushes its browser-based extractor, which needs no extension at all. We couldn’t find paid plan prices on the pages we checked.
GMap Data Extractor & Scraper
Best for: Quick CSVs with no email needs.
This small Web Store extension (438 users, no ratings yet, checked September 2026) exports names, phones, websites, addresses and ratings to CSV. It allows up to 100 leads per session for free, and unlimited use requires the vendor’s paid desktop app. Email extraction isn’t mentioned.
Instant Data Scraper
Best for: One-off grabs when you just need the visible list.
Instant Data Scraper (1,000,000+ users, 4.9 from 7.7K ratings, checked September 2026) is a free, general-purpose scraper. It detects tables and lists on any page and exports CSV or Excel. Its listing describes a generic page scraper rather than a Google Maps tool, so don’t expect it to open each business or look up emails. Expect to rename and clean columns yourself.
MapsScraper
Best for: Full Google Maps lead lists with emails at a flat price.
MapsScraper is our side-panel extension (Manifest V3) for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi. You enter a keyword and location. It opens the Google Maps search, auto-scrolls, opens each business and extracts name, address, phone, website, category, rating, review count, opening hours, lat/long, place ID, Maps URL and featured image. You can filter by minimum rating, minimum reviews, phone or website required, and max results. It has three speed modes and an append mode. Premium visits each business website to find an email and Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn links, and builds a WhatsApp link from the phone number.
The trade-off, stated plainly: MapsScraper is not on the Chrome Web Store. You download a ZIP from the install page and use “Load unpacked.” That means no store review and no automatic updates. There’s also no API. CSV export is on every plan, and Excel export comes with Premium ($9.90/month or $79/year, unlimited leads, up to 3 devices, 14-day money-back). The full breakdown is on MapsScraper’s plans.
How to choose
- Check which map the extension actually scrapes. Read the listing description, not just the title. Several of the most-installed listings only mention Bing Maps.
- Full scrape or in-place enrichment? Full scrapers (MapsScraper, GMapsScraper, G Maps Extractor, mapsscraper.net) produce a spreadsheet. Maps Connect enriches the listing you’re looking at.
- Where are emails gated? Nearly every tool puts emails behind a paid plan or a credit multiplier. Price the plan that includes emails, not the entry plan.
- Real free volume. “1,000 records a month” and “30 leads per task” are very different free tiers. Run your actual query before deciding.
- Install method. If your company blocks Developer mode, only Web Store extensions will work for you. On this list, the Google Maps-specific options that are listed are Maps Connect and the small GMap Data Extractor.
- Export needs. Check whether you get CSV only, or Excel and JSON too, and whether you can export just the rows you selected.
Risks of using a Google Maps scraper extension
Permissions. An extension that reads Google Maps can read the pages it runs on. Check the site access it requests on chrome://extensions, and prefer tools that limit it to the sites they need.
Sideloaded code. A ZIP install skips Chrome Web Store review and won’t update automatically. Download only from the vendor’s own site, keep the folder somewhere permanent, and remove extensions you’ve stopped using.
Account and IP. Extensions run in your browser with your own IP. Some also ask you to sign in with Google. Scraping too fast can trigger rate limits, so use moderate speeds and a separate browser profile. Our guide to scraping Google Maps without getting blocked covers pacing.
Terms of Service. Google Maps’ terms restrict automated extraction, whatever tool you use. Read is Google Maps scraping legal? before running outreach at scale, and follow email and privacy law in the places you contact.
When an extension is the wrong tool
Extensions stop at your browser. If you need an API, very large or country-wide pulls, or scraping that keeps running while your laptop is closed, a cloud platform is the better fit, and tools like Outscraper, Apify, Scrap.io and lobstr.io are built for exactly that. Our Outscraper alternatives comparison covers those tools and their pricing models.
If your job is “give me a clean list of dentists in Austin with websites and emails this afternoon,” a well-built extension is usually the faster and cheaper route. That’s the job we built our Google Maps scraper Chrome extension for, and it’s also where GMapsScraper and G Maps Extractor compete.
FAQ
Is there a free Google Maps scraper Chrome extension?
Yes, with limits. As of September 2026, G Maps Extractor’s extension gives 1,000 records a month without emails. Instant Data Scraper is free but generic. Scrap.io Maps Connect is free but enriches listings instead of exporting them.
Are Chrome Web Store extensions safer than sideloaded ones?
Store extensions get Google’s review and update automatically, and that’s a real advantage. Still, a listing’s user count may belong to a different tool (often a Bing Maps scraper). Check what you’re installing and what it can access, wherever it comes from.
Can a Chrome extension extract emails from Google Maps?
Not from Maps itself, because listings don’t show emails. Tools that offer emails visit each business’s website to find them, which is why emails are usually a paid feature.
Why does a scrape return fewer businesses than exist in the city?
A single Google Maps search only returns a limited number of listings. To get more, split your search into smaller areas or narrower keywords, and turn on append mode or dedupe the combined results.
